The department of urology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of the full range of diseases of the urinary tract and genitals of men. We prefer mini-invasive surgical methods, but we are also able to perform classic open surgeries.
We primarily use endoscopic methods for surgeries of stones and urinary tract tumours, for prostate surgeries. The laparoscopic approach is chosen for kidney and adrenal surgery and a microscope is used, e.g., for varicose veins of the scrotum and to collect sperm from the epididymis for artificial insemination. The urological surgeries performed in minimally invasive way significantly reduces the surgical and postoperative burden for patients and shortens the recovery time at the same time.
